Hi, I’m Lyn Buckley, thank you for taking the time to view my website Financials-health-check.com.

I’d like to share a little about myself, and there is contact info at the bottom of the page

So where did this all start……

My passion for finance started when I was 10 years old !!! longer ago than I like to admit. I recall having a discussion with my father when they bought the house we were living in as a family. It was then that I learnt that we had been renting the house from some one else, and had paid rent for this privilege.

During the discussion I learnt the landlord didn’t have to go to work like Dad. The landlord got rent from his houses which was like wages for him to live on. This seemed magical to me.

Maths was my favourite subject at school, so I sat down and decided how much was needed to support a lifestyle. This would mean I wouldn’t have to work and could do what ever I wanted every day. That to me as a child was the dream of a lifetime.

Over the years times have changed and the goal posts have moved. The basic principles have remained the same. I set targets to save a little out of my wages every week, which grew and I moved it into a term deposit. Over the years I moved the funds as they grew into property and shares. Finally I had sufficient to supplement my lifestyle choice so I could do what I wanted every day, and cover all my expenses. I still earn an income from different sources and talk about a “portfolio career” that achieves my income needs.

Looking back at the structure I have used to become financially independent, it takes regular discipline over a long time. Anyone can do this, and starting early certainly gives compound interest time to work for you. I have been prudent and watched where money has been spent during the journey which has made a difference in the end.

I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and have read heaps on the topic over the years. I began to question the accepted practices in our consumer society, as folk struggled to make ends meet when they didn’t have the right information or financial literacy . The media and magazines do not always help where there are commercial interests to protect.

I enjoyed the challenge of coaching financial advisers as they prepared for regulation and through the education saw how they were better equipped to deal with their clients. I am now embarking on a journey of providing financial education for interested folk who want to take control and make their own decsions to achieve their future financial pathway. So that they will not be burdened by their finances and understand how they can make their lives better.

I look forward to providing the knowledge, hope and inspiration to help folk achieve their goals. The feeling of satisfaction in achieving small steps toward an end result is amazing. Life is fabulous, the sun seems brighter, the air fresher and birds songs are sweeter.

So lets get started and make today the start of your financial journey to the life of your dreams.
